I've been a little devoid of bloggy inspiration lately, so it's clearly time for a no-brainer quiz, stolen from martawrites.com. My quiz answers are fascinating due to their obvious lack of profundity and/or meaning. Enjoy!


:: no matter what mood i'm in, i can always go for a:
Bag of Doritos. And I just learned yesterday that Doritos (any of the bright-orange nacho-cheese junk snacks, actually) pair best with Pinot Noir. I thought that was weird. Personally, from experience, I prefer a Pinot Gris or a Chardonnay.

:: my favorite go-to outfit would have to be:
Jeans, boots, warm socks and a v-neck t-shirt. Or a fabulous wrap dress, underlaid with a damn good foundation garment.

:: a good source of inspiration is:
Trip-and-falls.

:: am so glad my parents taught me:
To appreciate artwork, good food, education.

:: a song i like to dance to is:

:: i wish everyone knew about:
Bigfoot.

:: the best thing in my makeup bag is:
When I find a five dollar bill in there. It has happened twice! My makeup bag is magic. Other than that, BareMinerals face powder and my old stand-by, Clinique Angel Red lipstick.

:: my dream spring break vacation spot is:
Anywhere with warm blue-green water in which I can see my feet – if I can’t see my feet, I’m not going in. (Due to the sharks, obviously.) Also, new requirement – it has to be far, far away from any subduction zones.

:: this may be a surprise, but i am passionate about:
Bigfoot. Food. Hot tubs. None of this should be surprising if you’ve read any of my posts.

:: a favorite book that changed me for the better:
Soul of a Chef by Michael Ruhlman – gave me a clearer understanding of the restaurant and food worlds.

:: one of my pet peeves is:
“I could care less.” – Wrong! The correct phrase is “I couldn’t care less.” Because if you could care less, then you’re not really trying hard enough, are you? Just thought of another one – the “ironic” use of all lower-case letters and very little capitalization.

:: my favorite daily ritual would have to be:
Feeding the baby in the very early a.m. while catching up on DVRed TV shows that Jon refuses to watch with me in daylight hours. This morning at 3:37 a.m., it was “Off the Map.” I think I might be the only person in the entire world who is watching that show. It's basically "Grey's Anatomy" set in the jungle. Nope, I am not kidding.

:: i am trying to be better at:
Parental patience. Marriage patience. Patience in general.

:: the most recent rad thing i found online was:
Going to have to skip this one, because the word “rad” doesn’t go with the rest of this quiz and/or its ironic use of all-lowercase letters.

:: i can't live without:
Alone time. And none of this “I’m going to take an hour for myself to write in my journal/take a bath/meditate” business. I want at least 12 hours at a stretch, preferably 36, preferably in a hotel room with a bottle of wine, some Doritos, a few chick magazines and a movie. By myself. Actually, Jon can stop by, but only for a limited time, and then he has to go.
